Loaves & Fishes is always looking for volunteers to help accomplish our mission of “Feeding the Hungry with God’s Love.”

Direct Contact Positions
Interviewer
Commitment: Minimum of two weekday afternoons per month.
Responsibility: Be welcoming and speak lovingly with the guests. Show genuine interest in the guest and point them to resources they may be seeking.
Offer Loaves & Fishes resources as well as resources available from other agencies. An initial one-on-one training for this position will be provided. You will never work alone, other seasoned volunteers will be available to help answer questions.
Offer prayer to each guest.
Qualifications: Must be a practicing Christian.
Support Positions
Pantry Worker
Commitment: One afternoon per week from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm – 2 hours
Responsibility: During hours that facility is open to our guests, volunteer bags food orders. When not busy preparing food orders, volunteer will stock shelves or help straighten and organize work areas as needed.
Qualifications: Physically able to perform range of motion required for this work.
Pantry Stocker/Food Sorter
Commitment: One morning per week from 9:00 to 12:00 pm – 3 hours
Responsibility: Stock shelves and sort donations.
Qualifications: Physically able to perform range of motion required for this work.
Food Transporter
Commitment: One designated morning per week or on call – 1-2 hours.
Responsibility: Pick up donations at markets or various other places. At facility, place donations on appropriate shelving, refrigerators or freezers.
Qualifications: Physically able to perform range of motion required for this work.
Clerical Positions On-Site:
Commitment: One morning per week – 2-3 hours
Responsibility: Assist in office with data entry, projects and other duties as needed.
Qualifications: Computer literacy ranging from moderate to advanced.
Information/Resource Gatherer Off-Site:
Commitment: Work from home 2-3 hours per week
Responsibility: Make calls to resource agencies or visit their websites to gather most current information to offer to our guests.
Research local events and activities to make available to our guests.
Qualifications: Computer literacy ranging from moderate to advanced. Have ability to use the internet to do research. Good organizational skills.
