About Loaves & Fishes

Loaves & Fishes is a ministry of Christian churches working together and with organizations, businesses, and individuals in Paso Robles and the surrounding area to respond to the needs of persons seeking help. We are here to provide help with groceries and also to be a friend and a caring neighbor. It is our hope that anyone that needs help or simply needs a friend would find their way to Loaves & Fishes.

We specialize in helping the working poor, the elderly living on a fixed income, young parents trying to make ends meet.

Loaves & Fishes is a Christian ministry treating every person with the dignity of being created and loved by God.

Our name, Loaves & Fishes is taken from the biblical event of Jesus feeding the multitude of people through a miracle of one boy offering Jesus what he had in the way of food… five small loaves of bread and two fish. As Jesus took it and gave thanks to God, the loaves and fishes were multiplied to such an extent that over 5,000 people were fed, with twelve baskets of food left over.

We believe God still works miracles. When we take food and other resources given to us, and offer our thanks to God, we find that we are able to respond to the needs of most of those who come to us for help. Through Loaves & Fishes, God has provided for the needs of thousands of people.

How We Are Able to Serve Our Guests

The ministry of Loaves & Fishes is dependent on the many hours of service provided by many faithful volunteers.

They perform many tasks that include sorting food donations, stocking pantry shelves, distributing groceries to our guests, always with a smile and a kind word to share.

Without these wonderful and faithful volunteers, Loaves & Fishes could not exist.
